Delicas come in 4 different sizes:
- Large Delica Beads – DBL – Size 8/0. Measures 2.5 x 2.5mm, hole size of 1.5mm. Approximately 30 beads/gram = 300 beads/bag. Packaged in 10 gram bags.
- Medium Delica Beads – DBM – Size 10/0. Measures 2.3 x 1.2mm, hole size of 1mm. Approximately 108 beads/gram = 540 beads/bag. Packaged in 5 gram bags.
- Delica Bead – DB – Size 11/0. Measures 1.6 x 1.5mm, hole size of .8mm. Approximately 200 beads/gram = 1000 beads/bag. Packaged in 5 gram bags.
- Small Delica Beads – DBS – Size 15/0. Measures 1.3 x 1mm, hole size of .7mm. Approximately 350 beads/gram = 1750 beads/bag. Packaged in 5 gram bags.
The smallest Delicas – DBS size 15/0 are preferred for delicate weaving projects as well as designs that combine them with larger beads. The 11/0 Delica – DB the most popular size are ideal for peyote stitch, brick stitch, square and herringbone stitch or strung as-is for a more delicate look. The middle size 10/0 Delica – DBM are slightly larger than the DB but have the same even and symmetrical appearance. The largest size 8/0 Delica – DBL like the other sizes are ideal for beadweaving, but also can be threaded onto thin leather or cording because of their generous hole size.
