Single-use packages consist of resin and hardener that are squeezed out and mixed together immediately prior to use; work time is about 120 minutes (2 hours) at room temperature. Sold in lots of 1 dozen single-use packages or in cartons of 100 single-use packages . Uncured residue can be removed with isopropyl alcohol (but is non-removable when cured). This epoxy sets completely within about 24 hours. Surface preparation: Surfaces to be glued should be free of oil, grease, and dirt. Metals are best prepared by roughing the surface with fine sandpaper and cleaning with acetone or alcohol before gluing. Thorough degreasing is critical for a strong bond. Please be advised that certain substrates may require extended treatment to remove all grease and oils. Cleanup: Uncured epoxy residue can be removed with isopropyl alcohol. Curing Temperature: this epoxy cures best at room temperature or slightly above. Do not expose Epoxy 04004 to prolonged temperatures of more than 180 degrees Fahrenheit. This epoxy takes much longer to set if the temperature is below 60 F. Safety: Do not use this or any adhesive to glue objects that could cause injury if the bond were to fail. Wear protective gloves while handling the uncured epoxy. Work in a well-ventilated area. Do not ingest epoxy or get it in the eyes. Storage: store between 50 and 80 F. The lower end of the temperature range gives slightly better shelf life. Characteristics: Hardman 04004 (green) is the most transparent, most colorless of the Hardman epoxy line. It is sometimes termed "water-clear". 04004 has excellent water resistance after it sets, though while curing it must still be kept away from water. Best used for Stainless steel, Aluminum, Epoxy resins, Phenolic resins, Glass, China & Porcelain Can also be used for Copper, Brass, Tin, Acetate, Acrylic, Urethane |
