How to glue small items for scrapbooking and crafting »
It’s easy to get the perfect placement for delicate cutouts, paper piecing and small letters without using a glue pen, sticker maker, adhesive dots – or any adhesive! Here’s how:
- Choose the shape you wish to create.
You can draw your own design, use a stamp or stencil, download a paper piecing pattern, or use a Cricut® machine or other die cutting tool.
- For tracing and cutting by hand: trace your design onto sturdy colored paper; try Post-it® Craft Paper, a sturdy, adhesive-backed paper.
Use different colors for different parts of the design. If you’re using a pattern, you can trace different parts of the pattern onto different colors, or, you can trace the same shape many times and cut it into parts with a scissors afterwards.
- For a Cricut® machine: simply put Post-it® Craft Paper onto the cutting mat, load into the machine and select the shape you wish.
Set blade, pressure and speed settings at medium – the cut goes through the paper, but not the liner so the shape is easy to peel off of the sheet.
- Affix the shape or letter to your page – since Post-it® Craft Paper is adhesive-backed, you won’t need to use any glue or other adhesive.
Move the item as necessary; the adhesive on Post-it® Craft Paper is repositionable.
